You could send her a newspaper from your town and tourist information from your state......just so she could see what it is like to live where you are.
You could send her a great book you find on America. Preferably a picture book on a day in the life of America.
Hard one to answer without knowing where you are and what personality she has.

Send her something from ANY culture. America's a melting pot of people from all over the world, and there is no such thing as american culture, besides hamburgers. Americans really just work a lot, so send an application form for a job! lol. Sorry, can't rly help ya.

Look for a locally known sweet or confection.
Like, macadamia nut candies if you are in Hawaii or dried cherries if you are from Michigan.
Or maybe a book about an interesting local figure? Most book stores have a local interest section.
