I know hes 6'9" and they got rid of Frye to get him. What I want to know is what type of a player is he to score what he does? Is he back to the basket post up or is he a short to mid-range shooter? Thanks

You still kind of dont have enough basketballs on the court for this team

Just wondering is he in the need of slimming down or is his weight part of what helps his low post presence?

What Knicks fans are getting in Zach Randolph is a 2nd Eddy Curry who happens to rebound a little bit more. Both players don't play defense by getting steals and blocks but they do offer a tremendous among of low post scoring game. Randolph is better than Frye at this stage in his career because he's a consistent 20-10 guy who shoots great percentages. Frye is too slim and is still figuring his way in the NBA. Randolph has a hook shot and a fadeaway built into his post game but his height and his lack of quickness may eventually be exposed by opposing teams on the east coast. New York basically got more of the same when they traded for Randolph.

Ok I'm from Portland and can explain. Randolph besides his image and the hatred from the beloved Blazers fans is a very hard working individual. His work ethic is questioned when he is caught at a strip club while he is supposed to be mourning for his family but that is besides the point. Zach is not your fastest forward but he is a gifted scorer. He can post up back to the basket and power his way through any defender. In fact here in Portland many times a team would put their center on Zebo to make things more difficult but it usually didn't help. Double teams become common for him so expect to be able to get some open shots from deep. He can post, but he can also sqaure and hit mid range jumpers in someones eye, but you would rather see him down low. Believe it or not he can make three's and he hit I think over 15 last season, but you won't see him shoot too many. The problem with Zebo is that he wants the offense to be run through him and sometimes does not give up the ball. He is usually consistent but there is that one night where he goes about 0 for 17 and continues to take shots. However he's a great player when he starts out the game passing and waits for his scoring opportunities. I believe Zebo is capable of ab out 24 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists a game. The assists part is there you just don't usually see it. As you see him more and more there will be days when he is your hero and others where you want to find his address and slit his throat. Don't worry, you will learn to cope.=) Too bad we never got to see him become an all-star but maybe he will be in the East, we will see.

Zach Randolph is a very physical player, he cannot shoot a jumper for his life but he can score almost at will in the paint, when he wants to. He is a very selfish player and everything is about him, he wants and needs to be the star of the team even though his skills are only average to above average. He scores a lot but only because he takes and un-godly amount of shots. So in conclusion, he is a good player on the court, just not off of it.

What up Alpha, Dang! After Stephon comes off the books- the Knicks can purchase the Thunder... LOL!!! i assume it truly is obtrusive that the 2010 offseason is going to be extensive for the ny Knicks- till then it truly is probably going to suck to be a Knicks fan. The Clippers now have a log jam interior the front court docket- till Camby will become part of the deal. Nickster

He is a great low-post scorer and when he gets the ball with his back to the basket, he is tough to defend. He also has the ability to hit mid-range jumpers with ease...The knock on Randolph is his character and heart to play the game. He should fit right in with the Knicks.

He really does have skills, he can play with both his back to the basket or face up, he is a lefty, and could slim down a lil bit, but is only problem matbe trying to stay out of trouble off the court.

he's a post player. a 20-10 guy every night. his character is suspect, that's why portland was willing to deal him. they were looking for character guys and they didn't want him having a negative effect on oden.

now isaiah thomas has him and eddy curry to deal with. good luck.

He'd probably be like a Rasheed Wallace, since he played with him. He was taught by Sheed.
