I believe them to be evil becasue of all the stories i have heard aabout them. I know that your not suppose to use the board alone and sometimes an enitiy doesnt leave when you say goodbye.
Here is a story about an ouija

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a story about using oujia boards and the dangers!! This happened the summer between my senior year of high school and first year of college (1989). My friend, Tammi's parents were out of town for a week. So a few of us decided to take up residence at her place, one so she wouldn't have to stay alone and so we could do what we wanted. One night, three of us girls, my boyfriend, and his friend decided to have a small party. (I didn't drink at that time, but I didn't mind that they did.) Well, being intelligant high school graduates, we decided that it would be cool to play with an oujia board. Now we all knew that Tammi and her family had been known to see ghosts in their house, but they were not aggressive ghosts. So we thought that we would contact them.

Tammi and I sat "indian" style on the floor with the board resting on our knees. I was sitting in front of a chair, about 6 inches away from it. We were asking for a spirit of the house to come and answer questions. We asked it stupid things at first like who we were going to marry, etc.

Then we started to ask it things like, why are you here, how did you die, etc. We asked it a yes and no question, I don't even remember what it was, but it was moving to yes, which was on my side of the board. I then started to feel a tremendous pressure in the middle of my forehead and directly to my heart, as if someone were taking their hands and pressing as hard as they could. I was fighting it, pushing all of my strength and weight into it. I felt like I could not breath. All of a sudden I literally flew back and hit the chair behind me and the pressure left. I totally freaked out. I threw the oujia board, I got up and ripped the "eye" (needle) out of the center of hand piece (I can't remember the name of that thing), and grabbed Tammi's big, huge, family Bible and started reading and praying. Everyone else freaked because they said the I was shaking and turning white before I flew back. At first they thought that I was acting, until I told them what I felt.

I have always been extremely strong in my faith as a Christian and was brought up in the church. I have been told by many friends in college, that I am the most religous person that they know. I am not a "holy roller" or anything, but I have a very strong faith in God and have never waivered from that faith or the Church. What I believed happened that night is we encountered an evil being. I think that the pressure that I felt was that evil spirit trying to enter my body through my head and heart. When it didn't work, which I believe is because of my faith in God, it got ticked off and threw me back and left.

Nothing ever happened in their house again and I refuse to ever play the oujia board or even be in the presence of one again. I strongly urge young people, or anyone, to leave those things alone. Just because parker brothers makes it, does not mean that it is just a game. It is a contact to an evil, darker world that should be left alone.

HEre is some site you can go to.

The ouija boards are not evil themselves. It's an open door. Anything can come through if you're not protected. A spirit/entity may seem friendly, helpful and good but they can also lie to get you to use it more. Once you're addicted then it opens yourself up for alot more than what you wanted. If you're a natural medium, they can be very dangerous.

I have to stay away from them because of who I am. But like anything, everyone has his/her own free will.

That's a great way to put it. I've heard all kinds of stories about ouija boards and all of them bad.

the boards themselves are not evil, they are inanimate objects.
for people of certain faiths, namely the "monotheistic" ones, anything that's not within the confines of their religious practices is considered evil and idolatry.
the only thing that can turn something into evil is the intent of its user. what is your purpose in using the board? what do you intend to achieve? will you be disturbing energies and entities beyond your knowledge and try to control them for your own ends?
just make sure you do your best not to harm yourself or others and don't disturb the spirit world just for your amusement. if you play with them, they might play with you and their sense of humour is somewhat different to ours.

Yes, they tend to be bad because people don't know how to protect themselves from the bad spirits that attach themselves to the Ouija board. You can ask yes or no questions, but after that when you ask for signs and "who" that entity is, it's an all out invitation for anything to come into your space and hurt you.

"Evil" is a strong word, but I was never allowed to play with them growing up, because my Grampa swore they were an open channel - with no specifics any spirit can be called, even bad ones.

They're not evil, but they are the least effective way to contact spirits because of the misproportionate number of negative enteties that are attraced to them.

Get rid of the ouija board....demons attach themselves to them and you can become possessed by them. There have been lots of things written about demon possession and the ouija board. Try to google ouija board demons, you should come up with some interesting things that will make you throw it away.

No, I'm assuming you're a christian and worried about what God and Jeus might think of you using one. Well how about you call a demon into your house and slay it, that would make them happy :)

Nothing in the world is either "good" or "evil" without a human brain to make that judgment call. As such, no, they're not evil. They're just a cheap piece of pressboard w/a big decal on them & a plastic pointer thingie.
