Those normal virtual "cavities" have a servicing and cleaning of their own,,,,without extra help,
1,- The inner cell lining, in the throat, and small gut , for instance, shed daily, (inner desquamation of epithelial cells) and are replaced by new cells every 24-36 hours, and thus, they become debris that are excreted with the excrement (expelled from the system)

2.- The production of mucus, by plentiful amounts of mucus (mucinous exocrine ) glands located in the wall of pharynx, oesophagus, stomach (it even washes itself daily with hydrochloric acid), and in the rest of the digestive tract...anus included..(if there are hemorrhoids for example, they try to clean those with mucus production)

3,- The antibodies that "line" the surrounding vessels of those organs, mainly inmmunoglobuline type "A", which will neutralyze most of the foreign materials that may try to enter the blood capillaries....

4,- The enzymes produces in the walls of such organs, like lysozime, in the saliva, and the pepsin in stomach, and the myriad of amylases, peptidases, sachradiodases etc, produced in the small gut......are potent enough to destroy most of the germs that we ingest everyday in meals (for instance in the surface of grapes, as a good example)----

As you may see, our body has its own means of cleaning itself from the inside...
Periodic laxatives, or gargles with peppermint essence (wintergreen essence or methyl salycilate) , hydrogen peroxyde, etc.....will not contribute to it, however we have to admit, that some "clever" guys have made an industry from it...

All of the above cited mechanisms also apply to the respiratory organs (bronchi,,trachea, etc)

I sincerely hope my info helps to your question
