I text wayyy much more than i talk.

There are to many PROS.
Cons- You cant tell if someone is being serious.
Or if someone is who they say they are.

Pros -
- Easy way of contacting people if you don't feel like talking
- Great to contact people cheaply if you just need to ask them a quick question.
- Great for keeping in contact with a whole range of people at practically the same time. You mightn't want/be able to talk for ages with them - just send them a text to let them know what's happening, and ask them how they're doing.

Cons
- If you really get into texting and replying all the time, andyou don't have a decent phone plan, it can be costly. But only if you are paying full price for the service when so many company's have cheaper options.

Conclusively - it's good. You should get it.

Most people text message these days.
I reccomend it because you can text during class, if you're sneaky, and you don't actually have to talk to someone if you only have a few short words to say. Plus, you can send a message and not worry about whether the person is busy, or asleep, and they can respond when they are ready to.

Sometimes it is difficult to read emotions of people through texts.
Also there are delivery failures once in a while.
Some people don't text.
If you go over with texts, it can be very expensive.

I use it a ton...
More than I talk.

Hope that helps.

Texting pros and cons

Extremely hard to text and drive at the same time (Con)

It's direct and immediate. No waiting for hours while you wait for someone to return your voice message (PRO)

It's discreet, unlike loudly talking into your handset in public. (PRO)

Each message is like being in on a secret.(PRO) It's a confidential one to one that is completely exclusive. Just don't send the wrong message to your Mum, or let another person find you phone and read it(CON)

Is generally cheaper than a long phone call (PRO)

Can Send Photos/videos via text (PRO)

If you are one a budget, then yeah you should go on it.

I use it, but not more than talking on the phone.

I recommend it if you use it wisely (not while driving.) The advantage is that you can send a message to someone who may not be handy to his phone and he or she will still get the message when he next checks it.

It also usually uses fewer minutes and is best for short messages.

My son and I use it a lot.

if you are in the philippines you would be surprised we send 100 million text messages a day and it has doubled for the past 2 years because of our unlimited text service, we just register for 15 pesos and we can send unlimited messages usually 150 messages a day per person,.
well the pros it is cheaper, the cons, your fingers would get tired. and sometimes swollen

I text more than I talk, which makes texting a great option in my mobile plan.

The only problem is that most of the people I talk to don't have texting included, so they get pretty angry after the third text.

So my best advice is to see who among your friends uses it and can afford it, and then figure out if it's worth the extra few dollars every month.

i don't like text messaging. the only time i would use it is if i couldn't call the person for some reason.

something else to consider:
some phone plans charge you extra for text messaging so be careful you pick one that is appropriate or you may end up with a huge phone bill without ever talking to anyone!
