I don't think any consensual crimes are "bad." I would decriminalize them, personally. Illegal prostitution is bad in that it victimizes women & puts money in the hands of their abusers (& the legal system, who can also be classed as their abusers.)
It's not called "the world's oldest profession" for nothing.

Anything that is deemed bad is only bad because society says it is. Many people will agree that there is nothing really wrong with prostitution; it is a convenient way for some people to make money. I think what makes it seem bad is the secrecy and illegitimacy involved. 1) STDs must be considered but STDs could be present in a monogamous relationship. 2) Prostitution often spawns illegal activity such as selling human flesh 3) Those we may brand as (low-life) tend to be more prominent around prostitution 4) Chances are high that prostitution prompts infidelity 5) Public prostitution could create a display not meant for all eyes Its possible that with the proper controls and monitors, prostitution could actually emerge as a legitimate industry; such as Sweden's famed red light district.

i definitely feel prostitution should be legal, but that doesn't make it "good". Sex for money is not "the same thing" as a one-night stand, and never will be, because money changes everything. Money isn't respect, and the two should never be confused. I feel it's still a basic right if any two people wish to make that transaction, and idiotic to outlaw it, but it's still unfortunate, because there's no love or respect in it.

I don't think it's bad. It's just looked down on morally in our society (espec. w/so many w/christian beliefs). In our society prostitutes are always in danger of abuse and degradation because of these preconceptions.
In some cultures women were highly trained for this sort of occupation and were often prized and respected - even wealthy. (escort, entertain, sex)) Of course, it was also often a stepping stone to landing a wealthy husband/ lover.
Don't forget, sleeping around for free can earn the rep of slut instead of whore. Both negative labels. The Geisha for instance, gathered wealthy admirers w/talent & grace FIRST. The highest purse was paid for an admired Geisha's virginity.
I don't think it's impossible (just dangerous/ AIDS, etc.)for someone to achieve status, respectability and wealth in this profession, even in our society. (not respected by all but one could have quite a following of admirers in some circles) It would have to be a business that catered to the wealthy or high class society - and referred to as an escort service for obvious legal reasons.

Is death bad? When someone dies, there is a job vacancy the next morning, isn't this good for the economy? Same as prostitution. From the outside it looks bad/wrong but they are selling a service & yes i do think prostitution is wrong.

The only bad thing about prostitution is that men get jealous that females earn money a way they can't and most males are robots that believe your a horrible piece of garbage over it because the media told them so and they can't think on their own for there self

It is not the most respected profession in the world, but is one of the oldest. It is fact though that most Prostitutes contain some sort of childhood abuse or drug addiction. That being said I think it is more honorable to have a job then to just sell you vagina for money. To me the word 'bad' is childish, it is what it is.

yes it is bad. God made rules about love, sex and marriage to one spouse. When we live by those rules life goes very well for the family. He gave us those rules out of love. When the rules are broken, satan steps in and has an allure which looks like fun at first, but look out--evil is there. One night stands are sin which harm the 2 people, and perhaps more--maybe a wife at home, children at home. The family bond has been broken. Prostitution is getting paid to commit adultery. The love of money is the root of evil.

No i dont think prostitution is bad, as long as the woman is in a safe environment and not being exploited. If she is in control and using protection then good for her. God knows if it was the other way round men would be cashing in on it!!
