It would be the same sound of clapping, but a bit different. If one hand was clapping, the other would stay the same. Try putting one hand on a table face up, and clap at it with the other.

That would depend on what that hand is clapping. If it was clapping another hand, that would be a different sound than if it was clapping, say, someone's back (in a sporty jock way of course).

Well... one hand cant clap. Unless it is "hitting" something else, you dont call that clapping though do we?

A buddhist monk once asked me this. He recommended emptying my mind and meditating, if I remember correctly.

Anyhow, my unfortunately busy lifestyle led me to put off finding the answer until I had forgotten that I had been asked. It's a good question, though. Stretches your mind.
