In response to Goldbergs answer: Dude, apparently you're unaware that Goldberg, Undertaker, Ultimate Warrior, and Bigshow (AKA The Giant) all won their first heavyweight championships from Hogan. Also, Hogan jobbed to Brock Lesnar to help get him over with the crowd. Not to mention he's also jobbed to The Rock twice. So don't give me that crap about Hogan refusing to lose.
And btw, if it wasn't for Hogan, there would be no Undertaker as it was Hogan that first introduced Taker to Vince McMahon. Hogan also helped get Bigshow into wrestling as well.

What I think the difference is is simple:
good wrestler: can pump up a crowd, get over well, or attract carribean heat.
great wrestler: Gets a standing ovation before/after every match, gets over like he/she's a god, or has the ability to attract nuclear heat.
Examples of good wrestlers: Lond-rick, The Sandman, Matt Stryker, Shelton Benjamin, Umaga, Johnny Nitro
Examples of great wrestlers: Elijah Burke, John Cena, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, The Hardyz, Mr. Kennedy, Edge, RKO
According to the WWE, a great wrestler is 220lbs and 6'4". Or at least that's what John Laurinaitis says the WWE is looking for.

i think the difference between a good wrestler and a great one is that the great one's put there bodies on the line. Like HHH, whenhe tore his quad in 2002 or 2003 he let Y2J put the walls of jericho on him and this is before surgury or anything. Great Wrestlers also but young wrestlers over with the crowd and don't worry about their image. Hogan DOESN'T do that. he always wants to win and if Vince says he is gonna lose, Hogan says that something is hurt and he can't show. that is exactly what happened with him and HBK. they were gonna fight twice and hogan was gonna loose the second time. Hogan says "i can't my knee hurts." that happened at SS last year when he beat Orton. Hogan was gonna lose, but he really did hurt his knee and the doc said he could wrestle, but he wouldn't if he didn't win.

A good wrestler has good in ring skills and nothing else. A great wrestler has in ring skils as well as great mic skills and can get over with the crowd. A great wrestler also knows how to work behind the scenes because it's behind the scene that can really carry your career but most people don't get that.

A good wrestler knows how to wrestle, sell moves, and may be decent on the mic.
Good: Val Venis, Shelton Benjamin, Raven, Elix Skipper
A great wrestler you can't take your eyes off, even if they are ringside. Their promos keep your attention even in a bad angle. And they can turn a crowd at the drop of a hat to make them loved or hated depending on their character.
Great: Rock, Y2J, Flair, HHH, Angle

A great wrestler has the total package of intensity, mic skills, and the ability to both grapple and go to the air.
A good wrestler has the mat abilities but absolutely no mic skills (Shelton Benjamin)
Sadly mic skills play a major role

Good wrestlers are wrestlers who rise to the top for awhile and do good but eventually start doing bad and leaving the wwe like brock lesnar, great wrestlers are wrestlers who are at the top and stay in the wwe and continue to amaze you, like Triple H or Shawn Michales

I think a great wrestler has to be somewhat outside the box, have a gimmick that works, and needs to be able to get a croud cheering incredibly, or draw in huge amounts of heat.
Outside the box:RVD can do insane high-flying stunts, but is still large enough to hold it down on the mat.Same for mat and Jeff
Gimmick:Mankind.A lovable psycho.
Heat:Hunter Hearst Hemsley(HHH).People boo constantly(when he was heel) as soon as he walked in.He got crazy reactions.

A good wrestler has some good moves/holds, and has decent acting/mic skills. A great wrestler has a lot more holds/moves and someone you see originality in his moves. You will see things from them that you won't see from others. Has moves you don't see often. They will also be a great actor, and have a great on stage presence. They are believable regardless of what kind of character they are playing.
