Easy answer = if, in fact, something by definition tears our world apart, then it has no intrinsic positive value, but is invaluable in it's negative ability. Are you referring to some specific type of entertainment? Note that value can be negative or positive, as in, all things have a value while not all are necessarily good.

it fills something which is missing in us. could turn to fishing or art to find what is sought. if a cause such as saving the African Rhino or joining the peace corps or the UN can be found would be much better.the value it enables people to experiance danger with none to themselves as those who use do not want to experiance danger themselves. they only pay lip service to helping others or buy baked goods from peole fundraising to help others. entertaiment distracts people from the problewms they face helps them release tension in laughter or reflect how they wish they could be or how they wish the world will be.

by entertaining ourselves we exhaust our own spiritual energy which in turn leads to boosting up of our ego which in turn leads to lots of other weakness.
