Yes to both of them. Besides being talented, they're class acts.

I actually asked a similiar question last weak. I believe he will be elected into the hall of fame, and I don't believe that he deserves to be enshrined. People seem to think that that is a shot against Biggio, but I love Biggio as a player. He has been a very good player for a long time and could play on my team anytime, but it's the hall of fame, not the hall of really good players. Just because you play long enough to accumulate impressive career numbers (i.e. 3000 hits) shouldn't automatically mean enshrinement. What if he retired last year at 2930 hits? There would be less of an argument for hall of fame admission. Besides, a legitimate argument can be made that Biggio has never even been the best player on his team. Think it through.

Biggio minted his plaque several years ago. Reaching 3000 hits just hangs a shining star on it.

Bagwell gets a plaque too. Patience.

-----
ps. Biggio earned his plaque several years ago. Yes, I'd vote for him if he retired with a "mere" 2930 hits; I'd have been happy at 2700 (but then, I'm much more interested in great SEASONS that happen to build a big, shiny number, than in the number itself).

"3000 hits", or any of the other sparkly milestones, may help roll out the red carpet, but the players who get there tend to have gotten their key to the door earlier. I could even provide evidence, but will allow interested, intelligent readers to do this themselves. Just scroll down any all-time leaders list and, when you get below the milestone value, continue noting how many players who did NOT get there (but did get close) still have Hall plaques. It goes on for some length. As it should.

3000 is pretty, not necessary.

Anyway, Rose screwed up the unanimity of the "3000 Hit Club" being in the Hall, and Palmeiro's probably going to join him.

I believe that Biggio is already a hall of famer even if he stops at 2996 hits, Bagwell is also a hall of famer. I hope they get in at the same time.

Biggio definitely, and Bagwell is a bit more questionable, but I'd but them in. I think Biggio is likely the most underrated player in baseball in the past fifteen years.

Yes to both players. How people can say that playing long enough to get 3,000 hits (for a former major league CATCHER, no less) with decent run production and fair power doesn't make someone a hall of famer just baffles me.

Bagwell had a brilliant career. He deserves to go, but it's up to the writers. He needs to be just a darling with them until he gets in. But he had more than enough tremendous years to deserve it. But the writers, boy, they like those milestones.
