Gnats/Fruitflies! I make sure nothing is left out, especially fruit. They dive bomb into my face & try to get into my mouth, nose, ears or eyes. Especially while on the computer; they're attracted to the light (& me). I tried a bowl of Apple Vinegar with a few drops of dishwashing detergent on my table like someone suggested & it works kinda ok but the house smells like sh....!! No air freshener, even the plug in with fan, works. Help guys ?

Look near your plants and see if they are attrracted to them, if so then yes they are from your plants. The best way to get rid of them is to get a water bottle and add some sunlight dish soap to your water in the water bottle and spray your plant down once a week. We did this and it worked, we also took our plant outside and sprayed it down a couple times, in no time the bugs were gone. good luck.

They might be fungus gnats. We had a bad case of these when I brought home some new plants. They hatch and go through their larval stage on fungus growing in the soil of your indoor plants.

You could get rid of any indoor plants you have and see if that cures the problem within a day or so.

If that is too extreme, let the plants dry out. I was able to let mine go a few weeks without water and that cured the problem. If it works, just be careful to let the plant dry out between waterings so that you don't get the soil fungus all yummy for the gnats again.

It depends if it's gnats or fruit flies or what it may be. Gnats are attracted to your breath and will get into your eyes. Some will bite. Fruit flies are a whole other issue. Your best bet is to call a local pest control company and get an ID. Then you know what you are dealing with.

You need to find out how they are getting into the house. Are they coming in from a crack in the foundation? An ill fitting window? Leaving the doors or window open with a hole in the screen?

They do make the pest strips that will attract the pests and then cause them to stick to it. That way they won't bug you. lol
