After watching televison this evening, I came to the realization that President Bush was in fact correct when he said he was a "uniter". Apparently 75% of the people in this country do feel the same way about him. I stand corrected. How about you?

And yes - I am being sarcastic. Yet, it is pretty unifying when the majority of the people in the country think you are doing a piss poor job!

Yeah, I can't stand him. didn't see the tv, but assume he's at a 25% approval rating now, the sad part is that the 25% that do support him are on here.

I've never trusted the news. They can be too easily manipulated by the people in the white house or others, and are often biased.
Also, what does being a uniter have to do with you being wrong about Bush? What did you think about him before? Did you just simply think, he's not an uniter?
I personally don't like Bush, wouldn't vote for him first or second election. I don't want to write a book, so I'll hold off on my reasons for now.
Either way, I don't feel Bush is an uniter. All he's done is made it so that there are a ton of Republics in office (note I'm not a supporter of bipartisan politics) to support him in any decision and make the purpose of the terrible idea of bipartisan politics moot. If you're talking about uniting the people, I guess he's done that, since most people I know have united in there efforts AGAINST him (I live in California).

Count this 75 percenter among the united. His huge blunders far outweigh any good that could be said about him as president, which isn't much.

People fail to realize that a Texas Dem is nothing like a Chicago Dem. This is why Bush did OK even as a crooked Governor. Peopl don't realize that a New Hampshire conservative is far different than a Texas conservative.

Bottom line is you can't run the country like a state. There is a lot of diversity in the nation as compared to a state like Texas.

Let me praise the President. I think he's been very courageous in fighting for an immigration that will bring some order to a situation that is in our country. I think the President is doing what is right, what he believes is right, and it's a tough fight against his own party. The -- the principles that we have in our -- on the House side, in terms of the Democrats, are that we will secure our borders, we will have workplace enforcement, we will protect our workers, we'll unify families, and we'll have a path to legalization. Some of those features are present in the Senate bill. What's going to happen this week? The Senate will vote as to whether -- for cloture, as to whether they can end filibuster and go to debate on the bill. That will be on Thursday, and then they will go from there to see whether they have the votes to pass the bill. Nancy Pelosi

I'll admit, he is a uniter. However, he still has a way to go to catch Congress. They've united about 86% of the people in this country.

Let's see???

Bush elected president once, No, twice???

Hmmm...maybe that 75% doesn't vote. That must be it. They just complain but don't vote.

Then again, maybe they don't really mean what they tell pollsters?

Maybe, when they got behind the curtain, they voted for Bush?

This is a real puzzle when the numbers just don't add up, isn't it?

Bush IS a uniter; he ran a very successful governorship in Texas and won an unprecidented second term for the work he did while the Governor of Texas.

He also got an awful lot done in his first 100 days of office. I remember thinking, He's done everything he said he was going to do; what's he going to do with the rest of his presidency?

He has very successfully protected this country from another attack, and while he's correct when he says we can't stop every attack, he has successfully kept us from being attacked for the last six years.

I realise that you may be being facetious in your comments, but the fact is, for all his faults and foibles, he has done a great job for this country. The economy is up, unemployment is down, we haven't been attacked in six years, and even though Iraq is going horribly, it's not Bush's fault that there is a fringe who prefers death to democracy. Wait till the next person comes into office and the suicide attacks DON'T stop. Then people who hate Bush MIGHT understand that it's not Bush, it's the fringe.
