Hey cats! I was listening to a Bouncing Souls CD and there is a song on The Gold Album called "Better Days" but today I ran across two other bands, The Kinks and Massive Attack (i think) who also had the same song.
Does anyone know who orignally wrote it?

It was indeed the Kinks and also Massive Attack that have done this before.
The song is written by Kinks' frontman Ray Davies.

Sorry, but do you mean Better Things or Better Days? The Bouncing Souls song is Better Things, which is not the same song as Better Days, so who wrote which?
