Should Christians celebrate Halloween?

Why or why not?

I've never attributed anything more to Halloween other than dressing up and getting some candy.
I've heard different things but I don't put any weight on it, just thought it was fun.

This same question gets asked in here so often; there's always the same back & forth - yes, it's okay or no, it's a day of evil.

Halloween, as we NOW celebrate it, has nothing to do with religion, God, Satan, evil, good, bad, ghosts, ritual, etc. It is simply a fun time for children ( & yes, grownups ) to dress up, have parties & get candy, decorate, & have lots of fun. Most people are unaware of the origins of the day, how it got started in America, where it came from. And truly, the origin of the event began so long ago that the true meaning of Halloween is lost in the mists of time.

Does it truly matter? If Christians celebrate Christmas (the birth of Christ) and Easter (His Resurrection) with Christmas trees & Easter eggs, then why can't they celebrate Halloween with absolutely no religious connotations whatsoever?

To each his own. I see nothing wrong with it - obviously, since I'm a top contributor in here - & have celebrated Halloween all of my life & now with my children - & I am a Christian. If you don't care to celebrate it - fine. Just don't force your beliefs on others; what's right & good for you may not be the same for them.

When I was a kid, the church that I attended did not worry about it. The kids & teens had a good time. We even had a party in the church basement with a haunted house that I recall well.

Now, the church I attend would NOT allow anything to do with Halloween. They hold a Harvest Festival celebration that night, so kids won't go to Halloween doings.

I think it's up to each individual Christian to decide whether to enjoy the fun things of Halloween or not. I have not forbidden my kids, nor grandkids from the fun of that holliday.

I personally don't think it matters for Christians to celebrate Halloween in the way that is most common today. Kids simply want to have fun and get some candy, I don't feel there's anything wrong with it. If you were to celebrate it in worship or having anything to do with some of the odd past of Halloween (Druids?) then it would be wrong.

Having been raised Christian, i'm able to inform that maximum Christians (a minimum of that i've got met) do not do something distinctive or unusual for Halloween. some church homes will easily have little dress events on Halloween. additionally, in step with annum, i might dress up and flow door-to-door inquiring for candy. So did maximum of acquaintances who have been additionally raised Christian. some Christians, for some reason, see Halloween only as a devil-worshiping trip. notwithstanding, in case you do not have self belief that and have not any objections to the trip, there is not any reason you won't be in a position to take your newborn door-to-door for candy.

Yes, they should. My church holds a fall festival every year, but as much as they focus on Halloween, they keep it Christian. For example, I encouraged my then one year old nephew (this was in 2004) to play a game at the festival. He won a prize that had a cross printed on it. It didn't hurt him, and everyone else there was having a lot of fun and doing the same thing. We focus on the fact that it's fun , not that it's "evil" or "satanic".

Yes.
In my house Mom taught us that Halloween was a fall harvest celebration. Of course when we got older we learned where it really originated. Just make it a fun family and friend time and don't get all involved in any mean pranks. And don't forget the candy!!!! Trick or treat and dressing up can be a really fun time for kids, if you don't make a big deal of the origin of it then they probably won't even think about it. I have a girlfriend who didn't find out about its origins until she was almost 30, it's not really talked about anymore so why worry about it.

NO because GOD Say's hollow my name; and the evil of this world has turn it to Halloween, and not only this point, think of what Halloween represents, it represents tricks; same as the devil he has come to steal, kill, and destroy, by the way of lieing, cheating, adultery, fornication, and every imagination of the unsaved and unbelieving heart, therefore why would a Christan want to celebrate, and demonic spirit! with their children, GOD Say's a person can not have two masters, he will love one, and hate the other. I know many times we want to have fun, or some say it's just fun but that kind of fun is the trick of the devil, the same game he played with Eve in the garden; made her believe something that was not, a trick like as in trick or treat! all children should be able to celebrate Halloween. Why must you overdosed christians bring religion into everything. For god sakes, Halloween is about costumes and candy, not Jesus. let kid's be kid's!!!

Halloween or All Hallows Eve Is a relgious Holiday. In Europe November 1st, All Hallows Day, is beleived to be a day were Spirits are able to return to earth and walk around familiar places. Halloween or All Hallows Eve is the preparation for the spirits. By dressing up as scary things or Ghosts the kids are keeping the evil spirits from returning. It's all in fun though. I say go for it...
