There are several ways to make your voice sound different for different characters. Basically you play around with a combination of pitch, accent, speed and speech impediments.

Pitch: The depth of your voice. Older persons have a lower pitch. Their voices are usually deeper. Younger persons have a higher pitch. So if the character is young, pitch your voice higher.

Accent: The world is getting to know a variety of accents, thanks to movies that go across the world and, of course, the internet. You can make your character English upper class, Cockney, Irish, Scottish, one of a variety of American, Indian, Chinese, Australian, etc.

Speed: Some people speak slowly. Others speak fast. Combining pitch and accent with speed can make your characters sound totally different from each other.

Speech impediments: Think of Porky Pig's stutter or Daffy Duck's lisp. While perhaps not politically correct if they mock people, speech impediments can change a character's voice to make it sound different from another character's.

This takes training and practice, of course. You CAN self-train but the effort required will be greater than if you take classes from a professional voice coach. If you can't afford a voice coach try to listen to and imitate the voices of various characters in cartoons, movies and serials.
