I have to fast from midnight until some time tomorrow morning. I have to get blood tests taken. I know they told me I can drink a little water but not too much. How much is exactly a little bit of water? & they told me to drink in sips.

Wow, that is weird. Usually you can drink as much water as you want when fasting. I would just drink small sips like they say until you are not thirsty anymore. Please don't go thirsty, I don't think that will be good for you. Take a bottle of water with you when you get your blood drawn so you can hydrate yourself as soon as they say you can drink.

Good luck with your tests.
