If you listen to the ignorant Stephen A. Smith then the answer to that is yes but in my opinion it was a great movie. Jason Richardson is a very valuable player that will do Charlotte a lot of good. He is a player that has been in the league and can run a team now the only thing is can the Bobcats make a move to help Emeka out with an older player?

I don't understand why everyone is so jumpy about this trade. Michael Jordan has been trying to trade the pick for weeks for a proven veteran and he got one in Jason Richardson. Charlotte has a lot of young talent but they need veteran leadership and a proven scorer and J-Rich supplies them with it. They don't have any consistent outside threats (Raymond Felton couldn't make a shot even if his life depended on it nor could Adam Morrison or Gerald Wallace) or a guard who could create his own shot. J-Rich should complement Raymond Felton's penetration and open up the lanes for Emeka Okafor and Sean May. The Bobcats need offense and this trade has definitely supplied them with plenty of that. On the other hand, Brandon Wright may not fit in with Charlotte because they already have a log jam of forwards with Morrison, G-Wall, Carroll, May, Okafor, etc, you get the picture. I think this trade should help Charlotte get over the hump and become a bonafide playoff team.

Hey Dino,

i think it was a bad move for Charlotte because J. Rich's contract is guaranteed for another 4 yrs ($14mil per year). He's not a superstar and he's had a history of getting injured.

Julian Wright is a very young and talented player (a lot of pre-draft experts had him ranked as high as the 3rd pick) and he definitely has a lot of upside. He really benefits Golden State because he can play that up and down style and he's just a tremendous athlete-- when he was drafted all the experts on ESPN were commenting on what a steal he was at #8.

it's difficult to judge. they got a proven scorer in richardson who can score from both inside and out. but they lost out on wright who could've been a top 3 pick. wright had a lot of upside and potential.

also, what will this do to resigning gerald wallace?

given jordan's draft history, this may have been a mistake.

it was a good move by Golden State because it frees up their logjam at the 2 spot. now monta ellis can move into the starting lineup.

i think it was a great trade for charlotte. you get a 20+ point scorer, 6 reb, 3+ assists and close to 2 stl. he can be that 2 guard the bobcats have never had also a great closer. Also mj said he still wanted to resign GW so its a great move. please do not listen to nickster he is an idiot. first off j-rich is not going to make 14 million a year and the pick was brandan wright not julian dumbass.julian played for kansas. brandan played for unc!!!!!!!!

yes it was bad. Jordan has proven time and again that he doesn't know what he's doing in the front office (Kwame brown #1, hiring Leonard Hamilton in Wash, going 110-179 before getting fired). he made a good pick in getting brendan wright then got scared that he was taking too many tar heels (Felton, May, McInnis) and traded him away for an overpaid high-jumper.

Yes and no, they needed some sort of veteran, but they also needed some help for Okafor. Unfortunately, the Bobcats are an injury-prone squad and J-Rich doesn't help improve that at all.

bad move for the bobcats....i am from Oakland and the papers here say j-rich didn't even want to go there he was mad about the trade and he will play cuz he has to and he will look for a trade b4 the year is even over(but will be hard cuz of his salary)....so 100% better for the warriors

Yup, and I get even more frustrated thinkin' about it. I just don't understand, are they trying to stay in the lottery for next season? They claim they want us as fans to be patient, how can we be patient when you can't learn from your mistakes. Unless they plan on using J-Rich for trading bait, I see this as a bad move.
