I haven't read the book in a long time and a friend and I are debating whether or not there is an element of cannibalism in the book. I've scoured the internet and can not find a definitive answer. Thank You!

It's been over 20 years since I read it, too; and I'm in the same boat... (I think they did some of that toward the very end of the story, but I'm not 100% sure of my recall.)

Bet your friend the price of the Cliff's Notes, go to your nearest major bookstore or library (where they're likely to carry such student 'aids'), and sit down with your friend and the booklet. You'll have your definitive answer in less time than it took me to log in to Yahoo!Answers...

There is murder (Simon is beat to death and Piggy is killed by a large boulder pushed down a cliff), but no cannibalism. The boys eat pigs and fruit.
