I live in a condo. Previously the outside water supply line fed four units at a time. They decided to split everyone up with their own valves and run the pipes through the ceiling instead of the floor. Really they just want to start charging us for water.

The maintenance guy did the work, and they asked us to pay $300 to also run the hot water pipes through the ceiling. He did really lousy work. All the valves under the sink are not secure, so they flex when you turn them. He didn't even remove the old ones. He sprayed water allover the kitchen when he first turned on the water (because he forgot to glue one of the joints) and he left me with a leaky toilet (he didnt tighten the gasket nut tight enough on the tank).

ITS SO FRUSTRATING. There was an inspector that came before he put the drywall back but he spent about FIVE SECONDS looking at the work.

By the way its TUDOR CAY CONDOMINIUMS in Tampa, Fl.

Do you own the condo or rent? this is the big question. If you rent, you don't have much choice but to bend for the owners.
Unless you have something in your lease there's not much you can do about it. If you do push the facts and try to bring charges, be careful, make sure you have a place to move to, this may be what it ends up as.
Many people don't understand, you don't own the unit, they can find a way to get rid of you.

If you own the unit, go for it. They had no right to do this without you consent, if you gave consent, treat it like a private home and get yourself legal help. File complaints and charges.

Take our complaint to the condo association at your complex. The work should have been done by a licensed plumber. Your maintenance man is not a licensed plumber, as my guess.
I assume that the problems have been corrected now, and all is well?

If there was an inspection, there must have been permits. Florida is pretty strict on who does plumbing. Call the Plumbing Code Office and ask. I assume your insurance or someone else took care of damages.
