All my research points to it being a name - I have found it on several membership lists. Not in any dictionary though.

CADAMIA, according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary is not a word. Are you sure it's not ACADEMIA you are referring to?? If so, that is a place of learning or education (from Latin and Greek ,"academe" or "academy.").

In the Addams Family TV series, it was an endearing name for Morticia. Gomez her husband would call her Cadamia.

Do you think it may be a misspelling of ACADEMIA? The context may help you define it but without it the word is meaningless.
