An engine is an air pump with fuel added and burned to generate heat and work. More air, more fuel = more power.

Best way, for a hit once in a while - NOx - nitrous oxide. Also has the advantage that you can remove it and put it in your next car with minimal to nothing left behind.

Otherwise, a blower (supercharger) or Turbo. Turbo has some lag, but will give you better MPG when you're not using the boost. The blower is always on - unless you get a fancy clutched version.

Without knowing what model you have it's hard to give advice . Here are a few thing's you can try. A stainless steel performance exhaust system, Performance chip in the computer, K&N preformance airfiltration system. For around $1000.00 you have added 30 BHP. to your pony. Check with roush performance,or mustang ranch, they have a lot of goodies. some of the other suggestions ,like NOX. are worth looking at if you can afford them

I think the best way for you to increase horsepower in your mustang would be to sell it and buy a Pontiac Trans Am.
