Why Do Men Murder Their Pregnant Wives and Girlfriends?

While reading about the murder of Jessie Davis that allegedly was commited by her boyfriend, Bobby Cutts Jr., I learned that other than pregnancy-related complications and traffic deaths, murder is a leading cause of death among pregnant women. http://www.squidoo.com/crime-statistics/#module2915342

Why do you think these men take such a drastic and tragic step?

Besides being evil, self-centered, and afraid that responsibility will forever ruin their pathetic lives, they actually believe that they can get away with murder. Wearing a condom or not having sex at all would seem far too easy. I suspect that Cutts, being an officer (way to go, city of Canton) actually thought he could clean up a crime scene with the bleach. This is just a horrible story that makes me mad to no end.

It's important to not overstate that particular statistic, even though it is true.

You have to think about the group of people being looked at here - pregnant women. So, to begin with they have to be grown women say between 13-50. They also have to be relatively healthy to be pregnant in the first place. So what would otherwise be the leading cause of death among healthy women from 13-50?

My guess would be car accidents, but you have to remember that even that's pretty rare. The truth is not a lot of healthy young women just suddenly die. So it doesn't take MUCH for the numbers be such that homicide is high on the list.

It's just a stat that the media uses to freak people out.

Tbh I'm going through something like this with my fiance. I flipped and it made me go insane. Tbh everything was good until it happen. I was against abortion but in this case I'd advise. I let her choose though but on the inside I was hoping she abort it. It's a tuff thing, it'll always remind you of the rapist, it's not your child and if she keeps it another man's child has entered her life that's tuff. It's hers and she will have a relationship with the child cause its hers not yours and is like being a third wheel in a way. I love my fiance a lot and never thought about abortion but in a case like this you would change your mind or think things differently so wouldn't expect anyone to think the same unless you been in their shoes. Had she had kept it that might have been a hard time to continue. Love her and don't resent her since it's not her fault but it is a strong pain you could never get over.

I would have to wonder about the mens mental stability in the first place. From my reading he was allegedly a abusive person anyway. I also think that these men may be so jealous that they will not be the womans center of attention and they cant handle it.

They don't want the girlfriend or wife anymore or lost them and don't want the baby or child support payments, Maybe to get even with the women who dumped them or got pregnant after he said he didn't want children. Some men think women get pregnant on purpose and have total control so deserve to die for getting pregnant.

thats an excellent question, ive been told to my face by my ex that he was gonna kill me and at the time i believed him. didnt help he was all fired up with alcohol; distorts peoples (esspecially mens) brains badly.
must mess up their hormones or something. and then they black out in their fits of rage and go nuts.
