I have a tan top on my convertible and I have no idea how to take care of it. It currently has a few smaller(about 2-3" in diameter) spots from dirt and I don't know how to get rid of them. How do I take care of a cloth convertible top and how can I get rid of these spots?

Thanks!

you can use a mild dish washing detergent on it and not hurt it,and they make a spray on protection to put on it that will help it stay cleaner, you can ask at any advance auto parts and they will have this stuff.and other things also, but never use any kind of a harsh chemical on it,this will make it loose its protection, and possibly leak,or stain real easy.good luck with it hope this helps.

Ultraviolet (UV) rays are the killer of all rag tops. Be sure to treat with a good UV protect ant on a regular basis. As for the spots, It all depends on what made the spots. Start simple, with a good degrease, or just plain water, then gradually move to a commercial spot remover for carpets. You might want to test on a piece of fabric in an unseen spot to make sure it will do no damage. Naphtha will gid rid of many spots, as it is the chemical used by dry cleaners. Can be found in some hardware stores. Good luck!

Check with the parts department at your dealers. They will have some cleaners and protectors for the top.

take it to auto zone, they will hook up the scan tool and check for codes, tell them that my ex husband sent you and they may even fix it for free,or you can buy a haynes manual for $20 and it will show you everything, don't forget to change your air and fuel filters too, good luck, hope this helps
