Nope, only the classics have that. Now they are better. Some actually start with stuff like 'They found the mutilated body under the bridge in 20 pieces of blood and guts.' Much better now. Good question!!

But there is a great contest called the Bulwer-Lytton Fiction contest which stems from Edward Bulwer-Lytton, who first began a novel with "It was a dark and stormy night..."
