Yup. Every body needs to wag occasionally.
But I always feel guilty afterwards and everyone does seem really weird when you go back to work - as if they all know that you wagged......

Of course. And nothing happened if I said I was sick.
I also called in in the middle of a month-long booze and drug binge saying I was stranded in another town and I couldn't be in that morning - which was true - and I got "reprimanded". I ended up quitting that job after a few more weeks due to a case of stupidity and irresponsibility, but I'm sure they would have fired me if I stayed much longer. I bet the boss felt stupid - after I worked there just a month she suggested I might be shift manager soon. HA. Oh yeah, and another time during that binge, I was taking the cab home from in front of the movie theater- which was where I always catch a cab - and some jerk who was in management told my boss that I was at the movies that day. Lies. I was never at the movies. I was drinking under a bridge.

Yep and I went fishing instead. We were treated pretty badly at the old mill I worked at and I felt I deserved a day off even without pay so I said I was sick and had a good time at the lake instead of sweating my butt off in the mill that day and I was never found out and I certainly wasn't sorry either.

Yes I was totally busted. I was out with my boyfriend messing around and didn't want to work that day. I called my boss and told him my dad was ill and in the hospital. He says "Oh that's funny, I just called your house and he answered the phone. I think you don't need to come to work anymore except to pick up your check". Talk about making an "***" out of myself. I had them mail me my check and never showed my face there again which was hard since my boyfriend worked for the same company, just in a different department.

Yep, but sometimes I just considered those mental health days. I never took a day off and then went some where. It was mostly cause I just couldn't face the day at work. I was never found out.

Yes lied on a job, never got caught, but in the end I felt really bad and the job really, really, really needed me in the end on that day.

I think of them as "Mental Health Days," so I don't really consider it lying. I have never been asked to give any proof that I was "sick," or called on it.

When I left my ex and hadn't told him until afterward for fear of what he might do, I took a few days off work. -- said I was sick. But 2 of my assoc. directors told me to do it that way --so they knew I wasn't sick. So there really was no fear of being found out or getting in "trouble". We considered them "mental health" days so to speak. haha.
