Because most people are afraid of public speaking due to making a huge mistake in front of lots of people, the best thing you can do is PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE. If you are confident in yourself and what you are presenting to your audience, then you will stand taller, look at your audience more, speak clearer, and engage the audience more. And the more you do all the above, the more credible you will be to your audience.
The first thing that tells people that you are nervous is your voice. So work on speaking very clearly and projecting your voice well.
Best of luck!!

One of the things that I do is find someone in the audience that I feel comfortable with and imagine I am only speaking to them. I may look around the room and I will look at the tops of people's heads (it makes it look like you are looking at them when you are actually not) and look at that one or two people I feel comfortable with when I feel uneasy.
The key thing is prepare, slow down and realize that this is a shared fear. Everyone has this trouble.

positive self-talk. depending on your age, a glass of wine or two might help, as long as you don't forget your lines.
