if there was possible ILLEGAL ACTIONS... I would want them released...
I don't think this is being released to the public... only to Congress... and you better believe if the law thought you were involved in illegal activities... that would be cause...
citizens may be violated with or without cause? we don't know... no warrants?
it is two different things in my opinion... Bush's being much worse...

Bush and Cheney both seem to be out to re-establish what used to be called "the Imperial Presidency" where the executive branch was seen as clearly more important than the legislative branch. They seem to believe that doing anything that the legislative branch wants infringes on that.
The also are very much into the idea of executive privilege or the idea that the executive branch can operate without the interference of either the legislative or judicial branches.
It's partly philosophical and partly probably hypocritical as covering. No one claims executive privilege when the information is harmless.

Since when did the Constitution, give the Congress the authority to order the White House around ?
I thought the Constitution mentioned something called separation of powers.
You think Bush should have the authority to order Nancy Pelosi and Reid to turn over all the documents in thier Congressional offices to the Executive branch ?
The only time the Courts have ever ruled that the White House must turn over documents, is during a criminal proceeding.
You could almost say it is unconstitutional for Congress to even request any documents from the White House.
Congress has Constitutional powers to oversea the various departments in the Executive branch, justice, defense, etc.
But Congress has no constitutional authority to any documents from the White House.

Because he doesn't have to. There just being Bush haters and are upset that he has higher poll ratings than they do. Bush isn't so great but the congress is far worse. He's a lame duck, leave him alone. It's the ones who are staying you should be worried about. They have no ideas on anything and complain if someone wants to try to fix something. They may lose there special interest money. A bunch of pigs and crooks. Peace

I believe in honest and open Government save when it could cause harm to our National Security. I think all the evidence of the JFK assassination should be released and the evidence of the Clinton impeachment should also be released. He sealed it for 50 years.

finally, someone had to bring up the Clinton's. Not matter what Bush does , they will bring up the Clinton's.
You make a good point. Conservatives have answered countless times on here concerning the wiretaps, that if you don't have anything to hide , you don't need to worry.
I guess that applies to everyone but Bush. I haven't checked, maybe he put that in one of his signing statements.

Bush was doing this before 9/11 even.
LOL........cons always say "If you have nothing to hide?" then why not expose yourself, come clean, and let everybody see what you have done.
Especially if the government is prying into your life. The police, CIA,FBI. (conservatives are natural born slaves to authority and welcome intrusion in the cause of keeping "order")
Unless you are a repub president I guess.

Wrong. Bush/Cheney have much to hide; so much that it will take years to bring it all out into the open........We have the right to know what our government is doing.

Would you want your Boss to release your documents from work if you were fired? I don't think so. So why should he be expected to breach that privilege between him and those who no longer work for him? That's not right to ask.
It's not even comparable to the wire tapping issue. Nice try though.

Why doesn't the clintons come clean? They had a guy go in and steal documents, stick stuff in his socks from the national archive, but no one says anything. What was him name. So why are they trying to shut down talk radio, the bastardds are a little scared of the truth there to. Fatty McKennedy was crying today because he couldn't get his amnesty in through the senate. HA.
