no.

1.) the BIGGEST reason is would you want to be paying kobe $20 million/year for the next X years or pay durant, probably another future hall of famer, less than $4 million/year for the next 4 years?

2.) also, durant has been compared as a kg/dirk hybrid, which sounds like a potetnially more dangerous weapon than kobe.

3.) durant also seems very well-spoken in front of cameras for an 18 year-old, so it doesnt seem like durant lacks confidence, confidence maybe to take over during the clutch in games, one of kobe's highly-regarded attributes. so you'd also be getting maybe a potential superstar player who is also a leader, similar to the mold of kobe, for WAY cheaper.

I think the trade would be perfect for the Lakers, maximum value for a man who wants out of town, but I would not do the trade if I were the Sonics. The Sonics have no better team than L.A. with Kobe and Kobe will certainly not be happy there. Plus, Kobe has 5 or 6 good years left, Durant has 15. Build around Durant, don't get older when you don't have a shot to win it now. DO NOT TRADE DURANT FOR KOBE.

Supersonics: Kobe is way better than Durant. But who knows Durant could or could not be a bust.
Lakers: No way we're not getting rid of kobe now matter how much you beg

If i was the Sonics off course i would pull that deal. Kevin Durant will be good- but there is no way he will be a bigger impact player than Kobe in this league.

The thing is if i'm the Lakers i wouldn't make that deal.

Kindly,

Nickster
