The swollen eye could be from any one of several reasons. Obviously damage from being netted and shipped is high on the list. If the eye looks clear, just swollen, that may well be the case. If this case, clean water and proper diet are the best course of action.
If the eye looks cloudy at all, you should suspect a disease. Look closely if it's a cloudy eye and see if the cloudiness extends over the eye only or if it's also on the fishes body near it's eye.
If it's only over the eye, it's probably a bacterial infection that can effectively be treated with tetracycline.
If it's also on the fishes body it's a protozoan infestation that can be treated with Clout or a similar anti parasite medication.
If I can help further, feel free to email me.

it probably has an infection.you need to make sure its tank is super clean.you probably also need some stress coat and make sure your water is warm.dont tap on the glass or bother it.just let nature take its course after that,or call a vet.it also depends on how old it is,my betta has lived for 2 years and never been sick.

Magic Man 1 is ALWAYS rite on, but he taught me to always put salt in the water, 1 tsp. per gal. plus always add a drop of Methylene Blue to the gal. I lost many Bettas, but since he told me this, I haven't lost a one. I even have one who loves to come to the top of the bowl & be petted!! Never had a fish like him. He's my "Happy".

just keep the water clean. you can try antibiotics if you have some around. i would try feeding live or frozen food like bloodworms to perk her up. often they are sulky before they get used to their new home. the eye could be slightly infected or it could just be damage from being bumped around in shipping. it should get better either way.

she needs to eat more. being at the bottom of the tank is normal, theyre really lazy fish. in the USA, female bettas aren't common. our male betta did this for a while but hes fine and just wouldnt eat for awhile. we didnt clean his vase for a while, but then he started eating his pellets and flakes. he doesn't poo often tho. we cleaned his tank, he's fine now.

Sounds like a bacterial infection, try some penicillian for fish.
