A humidifier with plain water is always safe... just be sure it's very clean before you use it (they tend to grow mold and mildew after being used). Good luck!

when my daughter had a real bad cold when she was a baby they told me to run a humidifier because she couldn't take an medicine because of how young she was. Just make sure you call your pediatritian just to be on the safe side.

Curious as to why?
Make sure it and its filter is clean. Humidifiers can harbor harmful bacteria.

Do you have a nurse hotline you can call and ask? Check all the papers they gave you at the hospital; I think most places have a 24 hour nurse hotline.
My guess is that it would be ok, but I'm not sure.

There shouldn't be a need to use one with a child that young. Doctors will disagree on the use of them. For children with asthma and allergies, they are bad as they can increase the moisture, as well as the amounts of mildew present. However, they can be helpful for children with excema.
As for now, I'd ask your doctor is there is any reason to use one?

Absolutely, but I agree with everyone else, make sure it is clean and it is only plain water (no vapor water or anything.) I would use this when it was cold as our daughter's nose would get really stuffy and it worked wonders. It is also a nice noise maker. . . .

Yes, use a cool mist vaporizer. These are also great for "white noise". We run one every night so that other people in the house don't disturb our daughter!

I'm sure it's fine. It is not recommended to use a warm one because it breeds bacteria. You can use a cold air one.
