I am running windows xp profesional. I want one of my folders to require a password when you try to open it. If it is possible, how do i do it?

yea what he said will work, but if you want better stronger security use folderlock, a software program

wel u cant password protect folders in xp, u would need a 3rd party piece of software 2 do that, but if u delete that program, all the folders u password protected with it will be unable 2 read.

I don't think you can do that from the windows package directly.. You might want to try looking up 3rd party security software.

This is impossible to do- I've tried. there might be a download somewhere. if you're worried about people snooping in your files, then you can go to the properties menu and go to sharing, then check the private box. you can also make it hidden, if that helps.

just make it a hidden file. If your acount is not set up to share info, no one else can see your files.
