Call your doctor or pharmacist and use condoms for the next month at least.

You don't mention if your pills are monophasic (ortho-cyclen) or triphasic (ortho TRI cyclen).

If they are monophasic, you just took one of the sugar pills and you should take your normal pill immediately and continue the rest of the pack as normal. Then when you reach the "period" week of your pack, take those pills and don't forget you took one of them by accident all ready, so be sure to take the full 7 day "period break" and then begin the next pack on the correct day.

If they are triphasic, it's a bigger problem. Triphasic pills have different hormone levels in each color of pills, and disrupting the level of hormones by taking the wrong color is going to upset your cycle. This may or may not affect your risk of falling pregnant. For better advice, you should seriously contact your doctor or pharmacist and find out what to do.

In either case, you should be sure to read the pamphlet that came with your pills to deal with situations like this.

Did you take a sugar pill? In a 28 day pack the last week of pills are sugar pills to help you remember to take the pills. If this is the case, take the one you were supposed to take today.

Since your pills might be messed up now, I suggest you use condoms through your next pill pack - just to be safe!

you should take the pill you are suppose to...basically taking the darker pill means you missed a day (active pill)...
