The pool will only be set up for the summer and taken down when it gets cooler. We are in the south east so its really warm her. Its also a concret tank.

I don't think that this would be wise. First of all, septic tanks need to be fully operable so that they can be cleaned every so often (so that it doesn't overflow). A pool on top of it would hinder it from being opened up (unless there is an alternative means of opening it). Secondly, there is still the risk of the septic tank contaminating the pool water. Make sure you ask a conpetent sanitary engineer or similar professional for your best options. Good luck!

not a great idea. The pool might be too heavy and damage the septic tank. As well, septic tanks sometimes need to be replaced or serviced. Make sure the pool does not prevent either, or it gets real expensive.

It might even be against code. Where is the tank vent for instance? And where is the seeping field? Do you want your kids playing in that area?

Hi redlasvegas81,

Sure, we set ours up over the tank. The only issue would be if you have a septic problem and need to pump the tank. The pool will not cause an issue. We have done it for several years.

I see two potential problems. If you have to pump the septic tanks, the openings for pumping it will be under your pool. Also the septic tank may not be able to handle the weight of the water in the pool, especially if it is a metal tank.

NO, the weight of the water in the pool could collapse the septic tank. It may be made of concrete, but its not that strong. Your taking a chance if you put it there.

If you know you will not have to have the tank drained this summer it shouldn't be a problem.

Have you ever heard of "Murphy's law" that states that, "when there can be a problem, there will be" do you understand?
