Tape it up with cardboard for now. If you have any wood (plywood) try to board it up w/ that. You would need some pieces of wood that's longer than the window opening itself. Try to nail or screw or bolt from the outside to the inside. Using the pieces (2x4 or similar) on the inside. You will need to fill in the gap(s) between the outside and inside to make up the difference. Nail the pieces individually if needed. Maybe they have 24 hour emergency glass repair where you live. You could look in the phone book to investigate. Another idea is. They have whats called 1-800 Board-up. Its when there are vandaIs or break in's. If I was there I would fix it for you hun. 1. Clean up glass
2. Board up the window immeadiately with whatever you have. Go to a local hardware store or Home Depot (24 Hours)
3. Get it fixed tomorrow

replace the whole door or window, probly. Depends get someone out there to check it out ASAP. DON"T LEAVE THE HOUSE UNATENDED. Put a Tarp over the hole. Highly sugest boarding that area closed though untill it is fixed

clean up the glass and call someone to replace the glass if they cant make it today then get a blanket and tape it up so bugs dont come in good luck

If the dog isn't hurt, board up the window until you can get it replaced, then do what ny21tb suggested.
