Try the local scene first, they usually get grants through the State or Federal scene to restore older properties or just fixing houses like in Urban renewal. Then call the local VFW, the Habitat for Humanity, the local Eagles club, I could keep going, do you get the picture, there are so many places that give out loans with very small percentages or free money for home repairs.

The city or town. Try contacting them. If your house is really old (1900's or older) they usually will give you a grant free ( based on your income) to put the house back to its original condition. Usually includes windows, roof (if needed), insulation, doors, and possibly flooring.
