You know Pablo that is a really messed up thing to say. If you had to do the job that a soldier does, you would shut your mouth up in a hurry! Soldiers risk their lives to let people like you say screwed up things about them! That is ridiculous. My husband doesn't go to Iraq with thousands of other people to let someone like you defame what it is that they do everyday. And to answer the question at hand, there are people in the military that do get WIC and Food Stamps and Welfare, but it is only because they do not manage their money well. They should go to ACS and take finance classes, pay their bills ontime, and get a second income into the home. And most of the people that do qualify for government assistance are usually E-4 and under. Most NCO's E-5 and above do not qualify.

War cost all to much and we are in debt. There is combat pay for war time deployment. Check out the people that serve they need the military or they would be loose-rs.

Why is it you believe things like this when you hear them??? I spent 21 years on the military. Was never on welfare, never receive food stamps, always paid my bills. Before anyone guesses wrong, yes, I was enlisted for half my career.
You con't get rich in teh military but you you're far from poor

Naturelover has a point. Young enlistees tend to get married and have kids before they can afford it. The BAS/BAQ is often not enough to cover costs of living in the civilian community in many areas.
Sorry but if you can't support a spouse and kids on your income, you should wait until you can. (But you seldom see that...)

That's only if they breed like rabbits or live in a high cost area. They make a decent wage.

Being the Army. I didn't join for the pay. I did it for my country, the paycheck is just a bonus. To tell you the truth I would do it for nothing. Been overseas on three separte tours and am going back for the fourth. Lead the way!!

Our families are risking their lives for us and they get next to nothing in return. My Nephew died over there just over a year ago... it is sad that the Gov. is so ready to fund other countries, but they won't do much for our people.

Because you don't see housing and food costs included. If the person is single, they get all food and housing provided for them. Married people can get base housing, or get extra money for housing. I think they also get an extra allowance for food as well. Also, all medical treatment is covered as well, then after 20 years, they can retire.
