It really depend how old the person is the gift for. If it for a kid maybe the piggy bank is best if the gift is for an adult than the gift card is better. But stuffing the piggy bank with change might not be a great idea you might think of putting aside the money in a nice envelope and ask the kid to do the honor of putting the money him/her self.

well it all depends. If the piggy bank is for like a new baby then it is a great gift. It shows that you care about the child's future. A gas card is a good gift for say a new driver or some one who just got a new car. It shows that you have confidence in their ability to handle a car!

I would LOVE a gift card to a gas station! Piggy bank full of change is cute for kids if you also give them a toy with it ...

A Gasoline Card is a great gift due to the outragious prices at the gas pumps.
A Piggy Bank w/change is a nice novelty gift.

Only if the piggy bank full of change is for a kid say 10 and under.
Gift certificates are AWESOME but I would do a store that sold lots of different things, like Target or Best Buy.That way they can get whatever it is they want. I wouldn't do a gas card.

if the Piggy Bank has Silver Dollars or if you have it filled with bonds, In a piggy bank that has special writings. I think it's Ok for Babies, not like freinds or coworkers. Now a gas station car is very funny , unless it's for a college grad who is taking a road trip of something.

I think a piggy bank full of change would make a fun gift for a child.
A gift card to a gas station, would make a nice gift for any adult, who drives.

I was just about to send a piggy bank to my not quite a year old grandbaby...... but I was gonna put $2 bills, silver dollars, gold dollars, 50 cent pieces..... things like that in it....
I think that's a great idea for a baby, or very small child.....
I'm guessing a small child wouldn't want a gas card just yet though.....
I think your question depends on how old the person receiving the gift is.

That's a pretty original idea about the piggy bank. I think it would be nice because it adds an air of surprise and unexpected pleasure. Also, with the prices of gas, a gas card is a good idea too.

I don't have a "piggy bank", but I do use a gallon plastic jar that chips came in to put all my change in. I rarely spend change. I save it until the jar is full and then spend a few hours of rolling the money myself and then I will figure out what I want unless I already have something in mind that I am wanting. I have been known to have to count it out some and roll it to pay a bill that I don't have the money for or to buy a tank of gas. But I try to leave it in there until the jar gets full. But with things getting as tough as they are, may not even be able to save it that way much longer.
