Well if that's true those gnomes have a warehouse full of sleeping bags!! I have a giant stack of single socks ! My question to you would be how do I get them back? I know that if I throw them away the gnomes will return the stolen socks . Then what! Pesky little b*ggers!!!

NOT TRUE!!! Sock gnomes get into your sock drawer and pull apart your socks, sleep in them and put them back together. As many sock gnomes are color blind, they often wind up miss matching your socks.
Socks arte actualy part of the life cycle of pen caps and paper clips. Adult socks travel through a space time continuem in the washing machine to an alternate universe, where they mate. They produce pen caps and paper clips, which then travel back through time and space to live in random junk drawers until they mature. It's quite facinating. Pen caps attach themselves to pens in their teen years to travel to the ritual sock skin shedding ground, so they can mature. Paper clips however need to bind together in a box with rubber bands to mature into socks.
This wormhole in space and time in your washing machine also can align up with silicon heaven (only when the machine is off and empty) which is where all the dead calulators go.
Life is amazing isn't it.
Quit blaming sock gnomes for sock reproduction habits though.

Yes, of course. I have a couple of twin sock gnomes here. One is called Dexter and the other one Sinister. I can only distinguish them when I cross myself. Since I have them I am never bothered by the Lonely Socks Club Band anymore.

That explains one I can only ever find one sock and not two.
Must say have never lost any underwear to the gnomes.

Not all sock gnomes steal socks believe it or not. Some "tranny-gnomes" are known to take tights.

I've seen them stick each foot in two scrunched up socks and then parade around making feigned human noises, angry faces and stompy sounds.
