I think in the long run, the width of the trade deficit will deeply hurt our nations economy. This could in turn affect our ability to secure our nation.

You also added something new to my reading list. I plan to order the book tomorrow.

Globalization isn't all bad. But the US has taken it to the extreme. Products that could be made here are made in China these days. Remember the wheat gluten scare-please tell me what's wrong with the wheat grown here. Globalization must have some controls.

I recently was looking some USA made gifts for friends in another country. Didn't find anything. Really sad.

the response is simple - since 1980 american trade policy has not been for the benefit of americans and the american nation.

we need a 3rd party president once and for all...

It's easier for me, I have no kids, but I understand what she is going through. I try to not purchase anything made in china either.
