what is with the boy standing in his undies saying "i am a freak" then shooting himself? What does that have to do with anything?

I watched that whole movie because my husband thinks it's great. I thought it was terribly boring but the end was really a surprise and made me want to watch it again.

the man on the bed was his doctor (phyciatrist - excuse my spelling) and he couldnt "fix" him. He got angry that society doesnt accept him, so he shot the doctor, then himself. At the end when he (the doctor) finds out he is really dead, its because he was shot by the meesed up patient of his. Hope i could help!
