She took the morning after pill about 2.5 months ago and had a heavy period induced by the pill. She hasn't had another period since... does this happen often after taking the emergency contraceptive or is it just highly likely that she is pregnant? I'm getting very, very worried.

Please no answers telling us to get a test- i already know that, just answer the question that i've asked. Thanks.

For people out there like Veritas; i'm not interested in your judgements. Yes, i'm still having sex with my girlfriend and that's our choice to make, not anyone else's. I'm not asking how I should run my life, just for some advice. Is that so difficult? Keep your ignorant, self-righteous opinions to yourself, thankyou very much!

To answer your question... yes, there's a chance she isn't pregnant. The morning after pill is a high-dose hormone pill. It can mess with your cycles and cause you to be irregular. 2.5 months ago is a while though, and for her safety, she should get checked out by a doctor. She could be pregnant again or she could need another hormone treatment to make her period start. Don't wait too much longer to get her the help she needs.

Good luck.

Yes.

I had to take a morning after pill after a BC mishap while I was under strict instructions NOT to get pregnant. One of the side effects is a missed period. The reason for this is because the morning after pill delivers a heavy dose of male hormones, which can often throw a woman's system into a tailspin and take one or two cycles to recover.

My care provider explained this to me as did the literature enclosed with the pill.

Of course, after 2 1/2 months she could have ovulated again and could be pregnant, which limits your options about handling what could be a subsequent pregnancy.

I would be very concerned about why your partner hasn't taken a pregnancy test. What possible motive could she have leaving you in the dark about pregnancy status?

Peace

Taking Plan B can effect your cycle for a while, but I've not heard of not having a period over that long of time. A month yes, but I'd be concerned if I skipped my period the second month. It is possible that it could be from the Plan B, but isn't the most likely option, pregnancy is the more likely option. As you already know, you guys need to get a test. It would be accurate by now. Good luck.

The morning after pill has the side effect of messing with your normal monthly cycle. Some people might experience a lack of a cycle or two and others might get a period every two weeks for a couple of cycles. She should go to the doctor and talk to them about this though, just to be sure that everything is okay with her body and that it has healed properly from the hormone overdose.

Plan-B has very high doses of hormones, so it can mess up anyone's system for a time. Just keep using protection and have her take a test every month to make sure she's not actually pregnant.

Tha morning after pill may very well have just thrown her system off and it may take a while to get back to naormal. If she took the morning after pill within 5 days or less after having unprotected intercourse, it is usually very effective.

There is a chance she could be pregnant. But, than again, I am 3 months late on my period with confirmation that I am in fact, not pregnant. Womens bodies are a little weird. There are tons of reasons a woman could miss her period; stress, diet, etc... It's 50/50 on this one.

Yes, it's very common to bleed heavily after taking high-dosage hormones or abortion pills. It might also make her cycles somewhat irregular for a short time.

There are other reasons besides pregnancy to not get a period.

From your question it sounds like you are still having sex with your girlfriend. I don't understand your logic at all. Didn't having to take the morning after pill teach you a lesson? Sex is for making babies and if you aren't ready for babies then you shouldn't be doing it.

No insult intended at all but I'm going to speak very plainly here. A REAL man can control himself. He can control his passions. He can say "no." It takes real strength of character to abstain and save yourself for marriage. Are you too weak to do what's right?

I f she took the pill within the time limit then no she can't be pregnant. but if you two had sex at any time after she had taken the pill then there's a possibility she could be pregnant.
