Try this site below. Terribles is a smaller hotel and casino on paradise rd just north of the hard rock. It is rated 2 1/2 stars.
Price will very however it is quite a bit less than the strip hotels. I believe you can call or book online.
Even though this is one block over from the strip it is a long walk.
Check out www.vegas.com as well you can view the map of the strip to see where it is located.
Have fun and good luck
Glenn

I would suggest Tuscany Suites hotel not far from the strip, great hotel and casino. Hooters which is even closer to the strip. If you are looking for a nice hotel these are a little bit further off the strip, try South Point (4miles from strip) on LV blvd, not with in walking distance but the do have a shuttle to and from the strip. Or the Orleans which also has shuttle service to and from the strip. Most of the time, you can find a good rate at the tropicana(south end) or the Imperial palace(center strip) as well. If you are just looking for a place to sleep they are both on the strip. With that said as far as pricing goes it really depends on when you will be coming to Las Vegas, if is in the summer walking from anywhere off the strip area wouldnt be recommended due to the extreme heat. I would either rent a car or go by taxi, if they did not have a shuttle service available.

These are the only ones ONE block off the strip. Others like the Rio, Orleans, Gold coast, Palace station, etc. would be almost an hour walk to the strip.1. The Las Vegas Hilton. 2.Ellis Island. 3. And The San Remo Hotel. Those 3 are it. Have a blast!!

I stayed at the Westin which is right behind Bills. It's a short walk to the back entrance of Bally's which was very convenient. It was right near the Monorail entrance and a short walk to the strip. I had an excellent rate from Priceline with the chose your price option.
The Hard Rock is slightly off-strip and so is Hooters. Both are decent hotels at reasonable prices. The Rio and Palms are off-strip but they are just as expensive as some of the Strip properties.
The Orleans is nice, but the walk to the strip is not. So the shuttle, taxis or a rental car is required.
Have a great time.

A couple of places to consider...
Tuscany - 1 Block east of the strip on Flamingo.
Hooters - 1 Block east of the strip on Tropicana
Westin Casuarina - 1/2 Block east of the strip on Flamingo.
