As a kid, I played with Barbie dolls and Tonka trucks. I played house and I played GI Joe. I like to think I had the best of both worlds. I was never a girly girl, but I was never really a tomboy either. I was a blend of the two. I still am. I wear makeup and high heels. I occasionally bake. I'll work on my own car and do home maintenance projects. I can be soft-spoken and have the manners of a lady, but I can also be bold and outspoken too. In every woman, there is a bit of masculinity. In every man, there is a bit of femininity. It makes the person well-rounded and able to relate to the opposite sex. It's something to be celebrated!

confident. sons and daughters do not understand the version between ladies and boys toys, until eventually they're advised many times. I hated my dolls while i became a newborn, and the day my mom offered me a dolls pram, i presumed my international had ended ! I did ultimately have the flexibility to take off the chassis and make a cart out of it. I enjoyed fiddling with my brothers weapons, Meccano units, and so forth. My 5 year previous nephew performs together with his 3 year previous sister's dolls, yet he's a genuine difficult little boy. His sister performs together with his weapons and automobiles. in the event that they have been 12 and 10, there must be an issue !

I'm quite female and when I was a kid I had a holster, capgun and caps, a horse and a Texan hat, along with lots of baby dolls, and I wore slacks and hung on the trapeze at the playground yet was crowned playground princess, and neither of those situations or instances made me butch.
Why would you put blame on anyone. If a girl in later years becomes butch she had the inate inkling from birth.

My daughter has a bubble mower, toy cars/trucks, and other stuff. She also has a tea set, a toy dishwasher and vanity, and dolls among other things. I let her play with whatever she wants to. If she grows up tomboyish or "butch" thats her choice. I will love her anyway. And yes she dresses in pants sometimes. But also dresses. She usually picks what shes going to be wearing that day. What does it matter if a girl wants to play with "boy" things? As long as shes happy, I'm happy.

My children (both girls) are not permitted to play with toy weapons or any sort.
You probably don't have children, because if you did, you'd know that most kids will play with what ever they want too, and when you try to steer them in another direction, there is a tantrum on the way
Blame away, I let my kids play with what ever they want too, except for weapons.

Interesting theory. I have pictures of myself at 4 with a bride doll, ruffled dress and ribbons in my hair. I have a picture of myself at 19, in medical fatigues, carrying a gun and a medical kit, exhausted from the action and feeling like someone had taken a lawnmower to the unit the choppers were bringing in. It's all a matter of perspective, man.

Yes I would and I dont think it would have any bearing on their femininity. When my son was little he played with toy dishes and dolls as well as "boy" toys and it hasnt affected his masculinity one bit. I grew up playing with my brothers toy guns, soldiers ect. and I am still very feminine whether I am wearing pants, a dress, lingerie or nothing at all.

I had a toy gun, toy cars and had action figures and I'm as fem as any other woman. Stop stereotyping. So what if I like to wear pants?
You sound like my grandfather. This is 2007.
