The movie is in color, in fact, it was the first color movie to win the Best Picture Oscar. It was filmed in Technicolor.

I believe the original film was black and white, but was remastered and color was added within the last 10 years.

It was produced in "Technicolor" which was the newest thing out back then. The big thing about it was it was billed as "Better than Real Life!"
If you get the DVD and play it on a good quality tv, it looks awesome!

Color. I have read other answers that said it was in BW then colorized. They obviously know nothing. Made in color, still in color, will be in color.

As you know from the other answers, it's in color. Apparently you haven't seen it and it's a "must see" in my opinion. Rent it and watch it...it's one of my all-time faves. I've had it for years on VHS.
