Walking is definitely one of the best things you can do. You can also take Red Raspberry Leaf tablets in conjunction with Evening Primrose Oil daily to help strengthen and tone the uterus for labor. It will also encourage you to have more Braxton-Hicks contractions which in turn dilate and efface the cervix.
Castor oil is an old-fashioned remedy, but you would need to ask your doctor or midwife how much to take. But for many women it does NOT work and ends up giving them diarrhea, nausea and stomach cramps.
Other methods are breast stimulation to produce the hormone oxytocin (by hand or with a pump) and intercourse.
I know how hard it is at the end especially when you're overdue!
All the best to you and baby.

Walking, bouncing on a birthing ball, sex, and nipple stimulation (helps produce the hormones needed in order to induce labor). Hope this helps

I would give mother nature a chance. In my experience, people that tried the homeopathic remedies to inducing pregnacy ended up with more problems than normal. Make sure you are see our doctor on time and relaying any problems to him. Take time to relax with a hot shower and a book. You will not have time to relax after that birth! Hopefully mother nature with take over and you will have a baby soon!

anything involved inducing labor is potentially dangerous. it really should be managed by a naturopathic physician. i believe one of the popular herbs for this is red raspberry tea leaf.

I would try taking lots of warm baths. Often times, the warm water helps move things along in a safe, relaxing - yet effective - way.
Hope this helps and when in doubt, contact your doctor! Congratulations, Mommy! ;-)

I used prune juice figuring it would do the same as castor oil. It did! Just warn the nurses before taking any stool softeners after the delivery. :)
