That if you are pregnant you can't get a professional massage?? Im getting married in less than a month and included in our package at the resort we are going to for our honeymoon.....is a free massage but someone told me that if you are pregnant you cant have one? By the time i am there i will be about 3 months...if it matters.
I haven't asked my doctor yet because i haven't found one. I don't have any health insurance :/

Not true at all.
There are concessions that we have to make as massage therapists in order for pregnant women to remain comfortable, but other than that it is a great option for pregnant women.
There are certain points that we make sure to avoid for reasons of discomfort, but in most cases it is 100% okay to have a massage when you are pregnant.
Make sure you discuss things with the massage therapist, anyone reputable will know how to deal with things and more than likely they will not bat an eye.
And remember to enjoy it, especially if its free!

You can get a massage. In fact there is a massage for pregnant women called the prenatal massage. But a pregnant woman should only be handled by professionals because being handled the wrong way can do some serious damage including causing contractions.

Let me get this straight... You are under 3 months pregnant and getting married and for your honeymoon want the "free" massage, but aren't sure if it's safe? You don't have a doc. and you're worried about a massage... Girl, get the priorities straight and get to a clinic it's important that you start your prenatal vitamins/blood tests... Not worry about a stupid massage... I think the massage thing is more for if you are further along it could bring on labor.... However, I would be searching for a doc. to be on the safe side... Start taking some prenatal vitamins at the very least... Good luck

The resort should have a special massage for pregnant women. I would think the biggest concern would be laying on your stomach for a prolonged period of time. Just check with the person giving the massage. Good luck, congratulations and please get some kind of insurance and take care of that baby. There are web sites that you can go to and get help with your medical care. Search for pregnancy insurance.

No it is not true! Just be sure to tell the massage person that you are pregnant. Congrats on your marriage and your baby!!
Just as a side note, please at least get prenatal vitamins from the store. Your baby needs all the vitamins it can get and prenatal vitamins offer more iron. You can get a bottle at Target or Wal mart , you don't need a prescription. Good Luck!!

I think you should be okay. Enjoy yourself. Just let the person doing your massage know that you are 3 months pregnant. And maybe if she had something intense planned that might harm the baby she won't to do. And once you find a doctor ask her advice too of course.

Its the same reason why you shouldnt lay on your belly if you're with child, but let me asure you, its ok IF the place you're getting the massage from has the correct bedding for you, e.g. remember when you get a massage you lay down on a bed and they have a hole where you put your head in, so you're not laying on your nose, well they should also have a bed with the same thing if pregnant, the only way you will know is if you ask the people at the massaage place, they will tell you if its ok or not :) I hope this helps. and good luck with the birth

You have to make sure they have experience with pregnant people. There are certain pressure points that can't be touched. You should really find a doctor (money or no money) as that baby is now your responsibility. Good luck on the wedding.

That is ridiculous!
Sweetie, you need to see a doctor though! Good health care is ESSENTIAL throughout the pregnancy for a healthy baby. Call the local health department and contact DHR. There are programs which will provide healthcare and you already qualify for WIC, which will help with your prenatal nutrition.
THIS IS IMPORTANT!
