My brother inlaw's wake is tomorrow and the funeral is saturday. I havent had time to get anything to wear so im diggin thru what I have. I have black pinstriped pants, is it ok to wear a shirt that is a bright pink vest with a white collared shirt underneath it? I also have a grass green sweater. I dont have time to get anything else, but I dont wanna be disrespectful by wearing such a bright color. Help me out here!

Since most funeral homes are air conditioned, you could get away with wearing the sweater over the pink vest (if the vest doesn't show anywhere). If it doesn't look good then wear the vest. The family would appreciate your presence more than your look and if someone disapproves, it's their problem.

If the vest is connected to the white collar (all in one piece) I would perhaps refrain from wearing it, as it is too festive. A plain white shirt would be okay, or anything with muted colors. If you only have the pink vest w/collar, look for something to wear over it like a darker cardigan or blazer. In the end, people will just be glad you were there. It is your attitude and behavior that will count, more than your clothes. I am sorry for your lose.

No. A black suit would be best (with black pantyhose and black pumps), but you could do the black pinstripe pants (with heels), the pink vest, and a black T-shirt undershirt.
