I think they're good. They've been around for awhile (Dude, you getting a Dell), good software load, and easily upgradeable.
Something bad can happen to any computer, regardless of brand. Its just how well you treat it.

I've got a Dell laptop and it has worked wonderfully for over three years. No problems. I run Microsoft word/works, Excel, the internet and a few games on it. Stays pretty well charged too. All of the computers that are in the Doctors office I work for are dell and all of the computers in the college I go to are dell. I think they do pretty good. I've never had any complaints! Dell sells good overall pcs. I wouldn't suggest using their finacning, unless they have a no intrest deal for 12 months. I currently own a Dell XPS 410 Desktop pc and I love it. I have owned 3 computers by Dell. They use name brand inner components and are high quality. Alot of their competitors such as HP and Gateway uses cheap parts that dont last.

It is a good computer. The reason the price is low is because it's all done via mail order. Check the names of the components listed, you'll see that they can all be found on the net and that they are from good companies (asus, intel, matrox etc..)

Dell makes one of the best computers for Windows than anyone else I know of, the reason I know this, is that I own one. It has two DVD and CD players, one of which is a burner. You can view movies and listen to CDs on it, plus much more.

Dells are very good. Our company owns thousands of them. I personally own a Dimension XPS 710 that is totally awesome.
Plus their customer service is unbeatable.

I have an HP my daughter in law has dell but all can be done in with virus. All are as good as their warranty, get a long one with Norton or another good protector.

i have had 2 dell computers and they both crashed, but one was still under warranty, but if you want a good pc get a compaq.
