Went to England, have about 20 pounds left. Can I exchange them somewhere or am I left with usless coin?

Keep them as souvenirs. One day they will be worth a lot, when England finally accepts to use the Euro as their currency.

You should be able to deposit them at your bank back into your account for the appropriate funds based on the current exchange rate. That is what I have always done.
