Does anyone know any fishes are nice to keep either feed at the top and the middle

The fishes should be non-agressive, or semi-agressive.

They should be compatiblie to Angelfishes, Clown Loaches, Pictus Catfish, and Rainbow Shark.

I got way too many bottom feeders, like around 7.

Many tetras will fit the bill nicely for middle water fishes, just select the ones that will fit in your tank and that you like. For top water fish it's really hard to beat killifish. They will go just fine with your tank and have awesome color.

Most danios stay near the top. Get a group of 5-7 of them and they'll play at the top all day. There are several other fish that stay near the top as well. A good general rule is to look at their mouth. If it's on the top of the fish it probably catches it's food at the surface and where it gets it's food it usually lives.

Kissing Fish! Or in other words Gouramis.

Gouramis swim the top to middle part of the tank and enjoy an environment that includes plastic plants, rocks and driftwood. Live plants should be considered a “food supplement”, as they will not last very long for decoration!

And your other fish will be still be safe too! They do best with other aggressive fish such as Rainbow Sharks, a school of Clown Loaches and a school of Bala Sharks.

You will want to have more than one though because Gouramis enjoy each other’s company. When kept in a group of Blue Gourami, Gold Gourami and the Opaline Gourami, these fish will focus most of their energy on each other and be less likely to bother other species.

These fish do best in a tank between 70-82°F. Pets N Such offers a variety of heaters and thermometers to monitor and maintain the correct water temperature.

Best of luck with all those fishes =)

Some larger Tetras, or Rasboras. Try Bleeding Heart Tetras or Black Widow Tetras. For Rasboras you could try Red-Tailed Rasboras or Harlequin Rasboras. Whichever you choose you will want to get a fair sized shoal of them, 6 to 8 or more if tank size permits it. Harlequins should be kept in a shoal of at least 8.

An African Butterfly Fish is an awesome semi-aggresive fish that spends almost his entire life swimming around the top. They are very magnificent fish.

Hiya, I keep gouramis with my angelfishes and they do well. They get about 2.5 to 3 inches and wont compete with the angels for spawning sites as they are bubblenesters.

Good luck!

I've a planted tank with Discus, and i've used platty's for two reasons, 1 it gives a splash of colour, and they avid algae eaters when it forms on the plants.

Otherwise mid level i'd go for a shoal of red nose tetra's.
